Meeting within the Framework of International Cooperation at the Market Surveillance Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia

On September 17, Armen Kotolyan, Head of the Market Surveillance Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, welcomed Lance Thompson, Head of the Regulatory Cooperation Section of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and Secretary of the WP.6 Working Party.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the cooperation envisaged within the framework of the extrabudgetary programme “Gender Mainstreaming in Quality Infrastructure.”
Lance Thompson highly appreciated the active involvement of the Inspection Body in the work of the UNECE WP.6 RAMS (Risk Management and Market Surveillance) Group.
The discussion also addressed challenges related to digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence in the field of market surveillance, as well as prospects for the Inspection Body’s involvement in potential projects.
The meeting was followed by a capacity-building training session.
Developing cooperation with international partners is an important area of activity for the Market Surveillance Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia. Such meetings and joint initiatives contribute to the exchange of experience, the development of professional capacities, and the introduction of effective tools in the field.
