Visit of Representatives of MIRTEC Multisectoral and Multitechnological Centre to the MSIB

Representatives of the MIRTEC․S.A.  multidisciplinary and multi-technological center, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Development of the Hellenic Republic, represented by the Vice President and CEO MIRTEC Mr. Skipion-Stylianos Apostolakis, Vice President and Waste Management BoD Chairman Professor Konstantinos Aravοssis, General Director Inspections and Certifications-MIRTEC George Drosos, Applied Research and Environmental Lab Manager  Dr. Paraskevi Oikenomou, and MIRTEC Technical Expert Jeffrey D' Suza, are on a three-day working and training exchange visit to the Republic of Armenia at the invitation of the Market Surveillance Inspection Authority of the Republic of Armenia.  

Representatives and experts from several sectoral departments, including the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Environment, the Environmental Protection  and Mining Inspection Body, and the National Accreditation Body, were invited to the working discussions.

Armen Kotolyan, the Head of the Market Surveillance Inspection Body, delivered a welcome speech to the attendees. He emphasized the importance of this international cooperation and wished for effective work.

On the first day, the speakers presented reports on comprehensive measures and tools aimed at reducing the harmful impact of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as the negative impact of asbestos and asbestos-containing materials from the perspective of environmental protection and manageability.

The second day of discussions was more interactive, with a Q&A format, where the speakers answered questions from the attendees about the presented materials. Later, within the framework of collaboration between laboratories, a familiarization visit took place to the Market Surveillance Inspection Body's laboratory and the National Body for Standardization and Metrology.

The third day of discussions was dedicated to the presentation of an innovative market surveillance system based on risk assessment tools. Representatives from six inspection bodies were present. A useful and productive discussion ensued.
